SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Scheduling and Shipping Supervisor, supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in receiving, distributing, and loading materials. Oversees and supervises all yard activities including inventory levels, unloading of raw materials and their respective storage, transport of raw materials to production, placement of finished products, loading of finished products for shipping and delivery, marking/labeling of materials, maintaining yard organization and housekeeping of all non-production areas of the yard. Develops a proper attitude toward safety, utilizes manpower and equipment properly. Able to relate to employees and their problems, and handles complaints and questions promptly, consistently, and fairly.

DIRECT REPORTS
Manages 5 to 8 employees in the materials/lumber yard. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; giving primary input on employee performance appraisals; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
One (1) year certificate from college or technical school; or three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages, board footage, and square footage.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Driver’s license, certified as a forklift operator in accordance with company and OSHA standards. Successful completion of the company-sponsored First Aid and CPR course.
