Wall & Truss Designer Needed

Roles and Responsiblities:

The Wall Panel and Truss Designer will ensure the timely completion of design that adheres to the established specifications and standards. The Designer will also be responsible for updating and maintaining design logs and spreadsheets, and tracking our remote designers.  

Essential Responsibilities

Design manufactured components by preparing, or checking, take offs, running engineering analysis on computer, developing the design and cut sheet, selecting proper design for customer, customizing design to meet customer needs, writing work order for shop and creating a drawing of truss/panel/features and layout

• Keeps department expenses in line by designing component in order to minimize waste on lumber, and assuring accuracy of work orders.
• Provides written records for division by filing bids for future use, and filling out necessary paperwork accurately.
• Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by cooperating, with a positive attitude, with coworkers, supervisor and other divisions in achieving company/divisioni goals, contributing ideas, suggestions, to help division improve performance in service, production and problem solving.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read plans/blueprints, as well as working with AutoCAD and Mitek files.

Other Essential Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering or related aread a plus +++

Mitek software a must

3+ years Component Design or Building Industry, and/or Mitek software preferred.
