Description: 

Experienced Wood Floor and Roof Truss Designer to work at our Walnut, IL facility of work remotely at home.   Wall Panel experience a plus.  Must have at least 3-5 years of practical experience designing trusses with Mitek or Alpine software.  Handle a large volume of work with high level of attention to detail while maintaining high levels of accuracy and cost effectiveness .  Designs Layout, cutting and material lists for production and field use with consideration to current inventory levels and delivery deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Must have 3-5 years of designing trusses with Mitek or Alpine industry software.
  • Broad knowledge of engineering fundamentals, wood truss roof and floor design and building materials.  Design optimized projects with Alpine or Mitek design software
  • Basic CAD knowledge
  • Specify Beams, connecting hardware and other related products
  • Request sealed engineering drawings and/or repair details and follow up.
  • Strong visualization skills and ability to picture complex conditions in wood structures from plans and specifications.
  • Effectively communicate with architects, engineers, customers and fellow team members.
Qualifications: 
  • Broad knowledge of engineering fundamentals.  Wood truss roof and floor design and building material knowledge. 
  • 3-5 years experience designing trusses with either Alpine or Mitek design software
  • Effectively work with customers and other employees with a positive and cooperative attitude.
Education/Career Requirements
Minimum Degree: 
Technical College Associate Degree (2 year)
Other: 
Or equivalent job experience with Mitek or Alpine Industry Software
Education Subject: 
Computer Drafting and Design
Other: 
Mitek or Alpine Industry Software experience. At least 3-5 years.
