Carpenter Contractors of America, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Director, Purchasing to source and buy building materials to support our component manufacturing 410,000 square foot plant located in Belvidere, IL.

Responsible for sourcing and procuring residential construction materials to include commodity lumber. EWP,I-joist and Hardware products.
Develops, maintains and strengthens relationships with strategic lumber partners to improve material sourcing through distribution, mill direct and futures trading opportunities.
Negotiates pricing and delivery with supply sources.
Initiates significant material purchases as the market dictates.
Monitors raw material inventory. Conducts cycle counts as needed and manages the annual inventory process.
Stays abreast of market changes, trends and fluctuations. Communicates internally markets conditions, trends and pricing.
Works closely with plant and field operations, product design and labor estimating teams.
Measures and tracks vendor performance for quality and timely delivery.
Qualifications:
Strong consideration for candidates with experience in the residential construction industry with working knowledge of our market.
Minimum 5 years experience purchasing building materials.
Possesses solid working relationships with building materials vendors.
