At BMC, the dedicated Field Superintendent demonstrates leadership, oversees the daily activities of work sites in the field, including scheduling, delivery of equipment and materials, and progress of the project.

 

Major Responsibilities: 

  1. Supervise production scheduling.
    1. Provide oversight in coordinating activities.
  2. Plan, organize, schedule and oversee construction job-site.
  3. Organize and schedule crews.
  4. Plan for and order equipment, materials and supplies needed to complete activities and ensure they are ready for use when needed.
  5. Coordinate plans with builders, internal trades and external trades (e.g. framers).
  6. Assist in developing programs to motivate and increase skills of associates.
  7. Coordinate any changes in crews or members of crews; make any needed adjustments that will ensure projects are on schedule and within budgets.
  8. Communicate changes to involved parties.
  9. Update production schedules.
  10. Complete all required administrative tasks (e.g. completing timesheets, performance reviews, etc.).
  11. Check jobs and monitor productivity/performance of Foremen and associates through the integration of feedback and the development of improvement strategies.
  12. Resolve field problems with all stakeholders.
  13. Review plans with job Foreman and General Superintendent.
  14. Monitor budgets and schedule.
  15. Make sure projects are constructed in conformance with contract documents and in accordance with applicable standards, codes, and policies, all within a timely manner.
  16. May need to perform the physical duties of the trades.
  17. Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.

    2. Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
    3. Open and responsive to change.
  18. Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
  19. Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications: 
REQUIRED SKILLS
  1. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. Must be able to read, analyze, interpret, comprehend, and/or present information; as well as oral and written communication.
  3. Ability to utilize Excel (compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs/ calculate concrete yards and footage).
  4. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  5. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  6. Must be able to understand blueprints, regulations and building codes.
  7. May require CPR and First Aid certification.
  8. May require valid driver’s license.
  9. May require OSHA Safety Training.
  10. May require trade certification.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  1. Minimum Experience: At least 4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
