Description: 

Under general maintenance supervision, the Industrial Electrical Controls Technician, performs basic electrical and mechanical work in the maintenance of motors, equipment, and electrical in support of the entire facility operation, maintaining operation of the entire plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant requirements, in conjunction with various required codes.

Essential Functions

  • Installs, maintains, repairs, calibrates, test, and adjusts any type of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and other industrial equipment.
  • Reads and understands manuals, blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Reads and understands electrical schematics and how to troubleshoot electrical problems using a multi-meter.
  • Repairs, troubleshoots, calibrates, and lubricates machines and equipment per specifications.
  • Installs & adjusts computer hardware and software, PLC modules and related operating systems and programs, printers and other electronic equipment.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance tasks for all facility equipment and systems
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, in order to meet productivity goals

Competencies and Personal Attributes

  • Working knowledge of how to safely utilize tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials and methods of instrument and control system repair and installation work.
  • Strong technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
  • Strong aptitude for repair and maintenance activities.
  • Computer software experience including MS office.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to work in safe and efficient manner.
  • Knows, understands, and complies with all company safety regulations and procedures.
  • Knows and complies with all National and Local Electrical Codes
Education/Career Requirements
Minimum Degree: 
Technical College Certificate
Other: 
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college/technical school experience and/or equivalent training.
Minimum Career Level: 
Mid Career (2+ years of experience)
Other: 
2+ years’ experience with: mechanical, electrical, electronic, computer, motion control systems, firmware, software, and related components and systems preferred
