At BMC, the dedicated Construction Field Supervisor oversees the installation of framing components, doors, windows, exterior trim/siding, interior doors/trim and other building materials. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Schedules material deliveries and subcontractors to complete work per plans and specifications.
  2. Reviews plans and scope of work with customers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed accurately.
  3. Ensures quality of work meets or exceeds customer expectations and industry standard.
  4. Inspects and documents work at scheduled intervals.
  5. Regularly strives to build/improve relations with customers.
  6. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment per OSHA regulations. Performs job site safety inspections on subcontractors.
  7. Performs pre-construction and post walk inspections.
  8. Drafts customer and subcontractor change orders.
  9. Supervises subcontractors and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures.
  10. Maintains discipline, fosters good subcontractor relations and boosts morale. 
  11. Performs subcontractor management that includes training, initiating disciplinary actions and completing performance reviews.
  12. Performs other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications: 
REQUIRED SKILLS
  1. Minimum education required - High School Diploma. College Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering preferred. Licensed Contractor/Builder preferred. OSHA 10 certification required - Can be obtained within 3 months of hire date.
  2. Minimum experience required - 10 years of experience working in general construction and 5 yrs supervising subcontractors.
  3. Special skills required—Ability to read and interpret plans.  Broad knowledge of all facets of residential construction.  Previous experience working with installation crews.  Ability to interpret specifications and/or scopes of work.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal customer relations skills.  Ability to work with and motivate subcontractors.
  4. Special knowledge required—Detailed knowledge of materials and methods of construction, applications, specifications and material/labor costs. Knowledge of IRC/IBC and local building codes as well as inspection processes.
  5. Other - Computer literate. Daily use of tablet utilizing Microsoft Outlook and company management software. Ability to work in a variety of environments and climates. Ability to perform service work as needed.  Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
