Job Description

The self-motivated leader will provide direction and guidance to the facilities supervisors (Pre-hung Door Production/Warehouse/Staging and Dispatch) for this $30M revenue producing, state of the art facility. 

 

  1. Responsible for the Safety and well being of all associates within the facility.
  2. Collaborates with the Sales Team to continually increase market share.
  3. Assures quality control of all products assembled and distributed by the facility.
  4. Assigns work to department Supervisors in accordance with customer expectations and production schedules.
  5. Monitors efficiencies within the different departments, assuring efficient use of manpower, overtime and utilization of distribution schedules.
  6. Responsible for daily production reports monitoring and communicating the efficiency of operations.
  7. Provides best practices and implements LEAN methods used in production to increase output efficiency and meet expanding customer expectations while meeting On Time In Full expectations.
  8. Responsible for inventory control of materials utilized by the shop.
  9. Accountable for maintaining the appearance of the shop, yard and inventory storage areas maintaining customer readiness at all times.
  10. Works with Production department to schedule repair and maintenance of equipment while maintaining adequate supplies of equipment needs such as saw blades, router bits, etc.
  11. Responsible for product integrity and the coordinating of trouble shooting in the field as needed.
  12. Communicates with scheduling, projects, and sales for job specifications and operating efficiencies.
  13. Oversees and approves recruiting, hiring, vacations, terminations, wage increases, training and development of new employees.
Qualifications: 

Required Skills

  1. High School diploma or GED required.  Undergraduate degree and LEAN certification/training is highly preferred.
  2. 5-7 years of leadership experience in a pre-hung door manufacturing environment.
  3. Ability to manage multi-shift, contingent and full time labor work groups of 25-50 associates.   Solid demonstrated safety performance measures. 
  4. Solid manufacturing knowledge of pre-hung doors is required/Pre-finishing is ideal.
  5. Ability to manage and understand the scheduling of labor production in a LEAN cost effective, efficient manner. Union environment experience is a plus.
  6. Solid computer skills coupled with strong Excel skills
  7. Must have excellent interpersonal, managerial, organizational, and communications skills.
